hydroxosphere- summer League of the Future?? Think about it!
Quick Tips... to get things Started!
1. Your completed roster must be turned into the league recorder by the Monday before the 2nd meet.
2. If your roster changes after the 2nd meet, the league recorder needs to be notified by the Monday before a swimmer swims in a competition.
3. If you are the visiting team, it is your responsibility to contact the host coach to make arrangements for warm-ups, forfeits, and exhibition heats.
4. Coaches should definitely be in communication about the Tuesday duel meet by the Sunday evening before the meet.
5. As we plan the meets, we need to remember that our goal is to get swimmers in the pool and competing. Be flexible, but also be considerate of the volunteers that are working the meet. Their time is valuable too. A well thought out meet with a few more exhibitions goes faster and smoother than a thrown together small meet with few exhibitions. Plan as much as possible.
6. If more than 12 extra heats are swam, both coaches must be in agreement that this is ok. Otherwise, exhibition heats should be split as evenly as possible. If a bigger team needs ex heats, they need to make sure to offer half of those lanes up to the other team first. Only after the other team declines should a team use all 6 lanes in an ex heat. If the bigger team is made aware of open lanes before the day of the meet, many exhibition heats can be prevented by filling in open lanes. Example- LS may only need 2 relay lanes in each event thus opening up an extra lane for the bigger team to fill with a D or exhibition relay.
7. When filling out cars, the Home team takes the even lanes and the Visiting team takes the odd lanes.
8. In this league, exhibition heats are swam after the scoring heat. Please mark card as Heat 1, Heat 2, Heat 3 etc.
8. Always bring 2 copies of the score sheet for the scorer's table. A copy of the TM line up and/ or a copy of the score sheet should be provided to the Ribbons table, Starter, and Opposing Coach.
9. Line up changes can be made the day of all the way up until the event swims, however the scoring table must have the change marked on at least 1 copy of the scoring sheet. (For Champs, entries are due and confirmed the Sunday before champs.)
10. Swimmers can swim in a total of 4 events. At least 1 of these 4 events must be a relay.
11. In duel meets, swimmers can swim up an age-group in both relays and individual races. However, they may not repeat an event, (example 11-12 100 free and 13-14 100 free)
12. At Championships, a swimmer must swim in their age-group for individual events. They may swim up in a relay. Again, they may not repeat a race by swimming it in two different age groups.
