1. Pack as much as you can the night before. Mornings are always busy! 2. Check the Warm up and start time for the meet. They are not all the Same! 3. Make sure you know where team suits, caps and goggles are located. 4. Pack as many towels as possible. The more the better.
Morning of...
1. Get suited up! Pool Locker rooms are not the best way to start off your day. 2. Pack a cooler of healthy drinks and foods for the Day. 3. make sure you have foldable Chairs and blankets to sit on. Bring a Tent if possible. 4. Make sure you have a Sharpie Marker and sunScreen handy. 5. Leave for your destination so that you will arrive at least 15 minutes before warm-up. 6. If you are running late, contact a coach or another parent to make the coach aware of your situation.
Upon ARrival-
1. Find a place to Camp for the Day near your team. If you are unsure... ask. Teams should try to sit together. 2. Check in with your coach!- Very Important 3. Locate the event lists for the Day... Take your Sharpie marker. 4. If you have your phone, you might want to take a quick picture of your child's event list. This area can become very crowded with lots of swimmers. 5. Write the events that your child is swimming in on his/her hand. Double check to make sure you got them all down. 6. If your child is 10 years or younger, locate the clerk of Course so that you know where they will need to go before their events. 7. Warm up as your coach directs. 8. If you team gathers for a team cheer and team meeting, make sure you listen for those directions. 9. sit back and enjoy the organized chaos, but make sure you know what event is always in the pool. 10. All parents are required to help at a few meets. Check with your team's Parent Rep to see if they need any help or when you need to check in to do your part. Thanks for helping us to run this league! 11. make sure you are ready for your even at least 10 minutes before. the younger swimmers are required to report to the clerk of Course before they swim. Otherwise, the older swimmers should follow the lane assignments on the heat sheet and report behind the blocks about 10 minutes before they swim.
After the Race...
1. Always ask the timers for your time. 2. Check in with your coach for some constructive and encouraging tips about your swim. 3. Get ready for the next race!
Upon Completion of Your events...
1. Always let your coach know that you are finished and get the ok to leave. They may need you to swim another race or there might have been some team mates who can not swim their races that you can sub in for. 2. When given the ok to leave, please make sure you clean up your area. Leave it cleaner than it was before you got there. 3. Go home and enjoy the rest of the day! 4. or ... stay until the end of the meet and cheer on your teammates!
